Small Fry Collective is a creative hub founded in 2018, hosting a range of creative events, projects, workshops and talks, bringing together creatives from across the globe to share and exchange insights, knowledge and encouragement.
Draw In | Draw Out
These books are an exciting extension of Small Fry’s workshops and events aiming to encourage people to take their pencil for a walk; by drawing on location, exploring new working methods, and getting outside to observe the world around them. Overall, a friendly piece of creative encouragement you can carry around in your pocket 📓.
Written and curated by Small Fry duo Maisy Summer and Sarah Wilson. In these books, you’ll also meet ‘Friends of Small Fry’ professional illustrators, designers and artists they’ve worked with before, answering how they put their ideas into practice exploring questions around; composition, sketchbooks, materials, texture, research, type & colour.
Artist Toolkit Included: SF x TPP custom pencil from Blackwing Paper samples from G . F Smith papers, Viewfinder designed by Small Fry, 5x A6 postcards.

Small Fry’s Building Blocks
of Freelance Illustration
“This was a really comprehensive workshop with lots of great tips on every aspect of being a freelance illustrator. Sarah and Maisy were both lovely and talked about their own journeys with great honesty and generosity. I left with lots of great resources and the motivation to take the next steps in my freelancing career. I would highly recommend this workshop, whether you are at the start of your illustration journey or already have some experience but are feeling stuck and need some guidance!”
